The Challenge:

urbanMetrics Inc, a Toronto consulting firm that deals in urban planning strategy for private real-estate developers as well as municipalities. They’ve been running a successful consulting practice for over 35 years. They felt that they had outgrown their brand, that it started looking a bit dated - especially in this day & age of mobile, digital, and social media. They came to us to do a brand refresh, that would differentiate them from their competitors, and make them more appealing to their existing and prospective clients.

The Solution:

Rather than looking like a faceless corporate Bay Street firm, we injected some humanity into their brand. We showed the people working behind the business right on the front page of their website. Being a people oriented company, we came up with the tagline "Building Better Communities Through Better Insights".

We designed their new logo to be distinct and compact enough to fit the size of a social media profile pic. We also tweaked the orange colour to make it more saturated & eye-catching than what they had previously. We also paired it with a bespoke serif typeface that gave it the brand the gravitas it deserved.

"We were impressed with the hands-on support from Denny, Mary, and the Rayvn Team. During our initial call, they offered a fresh approach supported by a clear proposal and timeline. During the brand discovery & strategy session, they took the time to to listen all the partners perspectives, understand our goals and challenges, and review the competitive landscape of our industry. They delivered exactly what we wanted - they modernized our company brand, sharpened our messaging, and better positioned our services towards our clients.
